Day 01 - New Delhi:
Welcome to India. Evening sound and light show at Red
Fort.
Day 02 -New Delhi:
Daylong sightseeing of Old Delhi (Shahajahanabad) and
Lutyen’s Delhi (New Delhi). Evening free to shop around busy Connaught
Place.
Day 03 -Dharamshala:
Reach Dharamshala by flight. Dharamshala is the seat of Tibetan government in
exile. Rest of day free to soak yourself in divine Himalayan landscape and Tibetan
culture.
Day 04 -Dharamshala:
Visit Tibetan settlements, places of worships, Namgyal
monastery, learning centers and craft centers. Also visit the church of St.
John-in-the-Wilderness nearby. If lucky get an opportunity to meet His Holiness
Dalai Lama.
Day 05 -Palampur:
Journey a section of enchanting mountain railway from Nagrota to Palampur. At
Palampur explore the beautiful landscape of meadows and tea gardens or take
an excursion to Baijnath temple or Andretta (a village associated with some
renowned artists).
Day 06 -Manali:
Driving to higher ranges of Himalayas through beautiful
valleys of Beas River, reach Manali- an enchanting mountain resort. Here, the
snow-capped peaks of Himalayas seem a hand’s distance away. Rest of the
day to be left free to explore attractions of the vicinity and the pine forests.
Day 07 -Manali:
Day to be used for excursions to Solang valley and
breathtaking views of Rohtang Pass. Solang Valley offers excellent skiing opportunities
in winter months. Rest of day at leisure.
Day 08 -Manali:
Day left free for complete leisure in the lap of nature.
Optional excursions to Naggar Castle or Manikaran Sahib are suggested.
Day 09 -Shimla:
Drive to Shimla, a cool retreat that is a gracious
mix of heritage and natural beauty. At Shimla, evening free to walk over the
Mall which still reflects the lifestyle in the period of Raj.
Day 10: Shimla:
Visit a few Colonial mansions including the Indian Institute of advanced studies.
Suggested treks in the pine forests.
Day 11: Rishikesh:
After a long drive reach Rishikesh. Rishikesh is the perfect place to know about
India’s religious and spiritual aspects as well India’s ages old
techniques of yoga and meditation. Evening free to explore the quieter Rishikesh
on other side of Ganges known as Swargashram. Have a feel of the spiritual atmosphere
with several ashrams around. Also watch the evening prayers of holy river Ganga.
Day 12: Rishikesh:
Morning introductory Yoga session and meditation followed by herbal meals. Day
to be used in adventurous sport of river rafting over the challenging rapids
of Ganga. Evening free to explore on own.
Day 13:Corbett:
Drive through fertile terai region of Indian plains and reach Corbett National
Park- India’s first National Park and one of the most picturesque forests.
Stay here in a jungle resort where evening is made lively with campfire and
sumptuous dinner.
Day 14:Corbett:
Day to be used in jungle safaris viewing wild animals and migratory birds as
well as, if lucky, the tiger too. Rest of day free to soak the spirits in wilderness.
Day 15:Lucknow:
Reach Lucknow and check in. During the sightseeing visit the famous Imambaras
of Lucknow. Also explore for some time the old bazaars of the city that reflect
great character and tastes. The mouthwatering kababs of Lucknow are worth not
to be missed.
Day 16: Varanasi:
Drive to Varanasi. At Varanasi, walking tour of a few Ghats and narrow backlanes
to feel the pulse of this most sacred city of India.
Day 17: Varanasi:
Early morning boat ride on river Ganges to witness holy rituals on Ghats. A
very spiritual experience! Day tour to Sarnath where Buddha delivered his first
sermon.
Day 18: New Delhi:
Take the flight back to Delhi. On arrival transfer to hotel. Evening free to
visit one of the many cultural centers of New Delhi.
Day 19:Departure:
Departure: Transfer to airport at appropriate departure time for onward journey.
